our new year’s eve looked a little something like this.
we tucked the kids into bed, paid entirely too much for dinner, laughed a lot, ate a lot, and kissed a lot. i was a little grossed out by the horseradish crust on your steak, and you, honey, were a little grossed out that my favorite part of my meal was the peas. what? they are so good. by ten o’clock i was ready for bed. rut row. can’t even make it til the ball drop. sweet slumber was calling my name. loud and clear.
{i wore red lipstick in public for the second time in my life. and i loved it.}
2010 was a gift. i am grateful for all the that the lord has taught us. i do, of course, have a little list of things to accomplish this year. including more trips to the gym, more trips to thrift stores, and a long list of books to read. but, above all else i am hoping to know and love my creator more. knowing that trusting in Him, all things will fall into place.
2010: in january foster started to smile and i discovered, made, and ate way too much of this. in february i started this challenge to pray for my husband each day and i had the cutest valentines in town. in march i got handy and we all got excited for spring time. in april brody celebrated his second birthday, little man style. and fost ate his first foods. in may we were so good about date nights (and need to get better again, babe) and i told you not to rent dear john. in june my sisters and i ate at sunset cafe and througholy enjoyed ourselves. the love affair with our pool also began. in july we celebrated pirate day, loved our pool some more, and scored some killer deals at target, twice. in august we got our craigslist couch, i read the best book, and my dear friend took our pictures. in september we celebrated four years married and i laughed at all my old cell phone pictures. in october we bought our first home, mr.burkleo redid the kitchen, i made a yarn wreath and pen jar, and had my first post syndicated on blogher. in november my heart hurt but i have learned to praise Him in all things, for He is worthy of it. we also celebrated my sweet foster’s first year. in december i showed you our playroom and we got to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
what a blessing it was.

Happy New Year! Your red lipstick looks great! Since we're up all.night.long. it was really hard for us as well to stay up until midnight. Boy, does that make me feel old.
beat ya! 9:30. BOOM. Baby decided to wake up and cry and wasn't having none of it. He was sick and so was I 🙁 but I did here the firecrackers going off at midnight.
