the past two weeks have been a whirlwind of sickness going around our house. i am finally feeling like myself again only to have brody and his daddy with double ear infections…. i guess we know where he gets it from :/ at the end of this month brody has an appointment with his ENT to see how his ears look, if his tubes have fallen out, and if he will need them again. we are praying everything looks good and he will not need another surgery.
last night was quite the fun night…kidding.
foster is a wonderful baby and is taking to a schedule very well. he is sleeping on average 10pm to 630am with one feeding around 230am. although last night, this was not the case. foster sleeps on his belly and some of our friends were kind enough to let us borrow their angel care baby monitor which we use all the time. last night we had our first (and second, third and fourth) scare of it going off. around 1am it went off the first time because foster had moved off the mat, repeat that three more times. we did adjust the settings so it was more sensitive but my little man is quite the mover and squirms his way up to the other side of the crib. for some reason, probably because we were in that weird place between sleep and wake, we kept the monitor on. after the fourth time i had a wide awake baby and a hubby who had to be at work in 2 hours resorting to the couch (sorry, honey). needless to say, i was one tired mama today but i was really loving cuddling my baby boy in the rocker in the wee hours of the morning.
i am worrying a lot less this time around. i’m sure it’s that way for most second time moms. everything seems to be a whole lot easier as i am more calm having walked this road before. this verse stuck out to me while reading my bible today, thought i would share it with you.
“don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. tell god what you need, and thank him for all he has done. then you will experience god’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. his peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in christ jesus.” philippians 4:6-7
here’s a couple photos of foster, he will be 7 weeks on thursday!
