There are so many chapters in our stories. Sometimes, when we are living them, one thing seems to stand out the most. Sometimes it’s mothering, sometimes it’s grace, sometimes it’s falling in love. Right now, for me, every page I turn, it’s friendship.
The one who dreams big alongside me.
The one who snorts when she laughs and maybe even, sometimes, makes me snort.
The ones who I wonder what in the world I did she came into my life.
The one who has the same love languages as me.
We speak in these things: quotes, the ocean, quilts, worship, and treats. And maybe a 100 more treats.
We laugh til we cry and we cry til we laugh.
We balance each other out. We hold onto each other. We need each other.
Friendship, for me, has taken on a whole new meaning, a whole new light in these past few years. My girls are the best part of me, my heart, my soul, my community.
At some point this past weekend, amongst the brokenness that was swallowed up by beauty, amongst the pain that was filled with grace, was my best friend, right by my side. The only thing more beautiful than her, is serving alongside of her. I was a bursting combination of proud, honored, blessed, and beaming.
Eating peanut m&ms in bed at 2 AM, trying to find the right sparkly dress, rolling out of bed together after two hours of sleep. Watching our heart for women come to life, right before our very eyes.
Worshipping together was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. To be on our knees praising, and crying out to our Savior, that we need Him. We need him in this place. We need him in our mothering, our marriages, our jobs, our friendship, our every day.
Somewhere between New York and Dallas, between thousands of emails, hundreds of phone calls, between bakeries in the lower east side, layovers in Chicago, between losing a precious baby, and bringing new ones home, between a quick meeting in California, through so many tears, and so much laughter, this precious friendship was born.
“You’ll need coffee shops, and sunsets, and road trips. Airplanes and passports and new songs and old songs, but people more than anything else. You will need other people. And you will need to be that other person to someone else, a living, breathing, screaming invitation to believe in better things.” -JT

I love the idea of the friendship chapter. And I love that you two were like magnets that powerfully drew to one another. And then, as if that wasn't enough richness, God spoke a vision into you both. And then He helped you pull it off. It's nothing short of supernatural. He's the whole thing, here. It's beautiful.

So so good! They say it takes a village to raise a baby. I tend to think it takes a village to stay sane! We need our God, we need our husbands, we need our parents and we need our girls. Our girls are walking the same walk we are. They can look at us and say, you are not alone! I feel it too. We totally need that!!!
