september 24: a list

1) today my girl turns seven months old. the child has two teeth and is about to walk, kid you not. someone hold me. 
2) it’s fall y’all. my favorite time of all. 

3) brody’s just now loving to get himself dressed and pick out his own clothes. i love that. i always let him wear whatever he picks… it usually it looks better then what i pick. maybe that’s because now that he’s out of T sizes he has no clothes that fit so he wears, what i like to call, capris a lot. don’t let him in on my secret.
foster wants to join in on the game and get himself dressed too. this is his outfit of choice. 
4) my kids are sickly obsessed with this sort of creepy solar system video. their favorite part is when the planets say i’m a gas giant. they laugh hysterically because, maybe, a certain father of mine told them that he was also a gas giant, but in a different way. ifyaknowwhatimtalkingabout. thanks, dad. isn’t it funny that brody didn’t even look at a computer or tv til he was, oh 2 maybe?, and story is already engrossed in it? i like to call this the third child. 
5) my new scarf from eclectic joy makes me all kinds of happy.
and the fact that i can wear a scarf right now makes me want to dance. 

6) strolling through target by myself at 8 pm is therapy. therapy, i tell you! why does target have the most amazing stuff from their speciality shops (is that what they’re called?) right now? stop tempting me with that america cutting board! 

7) i can’t tell you how much i am loving the five in a row curriculum. last week we read madeline and it was so much fun, for all us. 

6) little miss story kate fell asleep on me the other day. this never ever happens… but a teething, overtired girl just needed it. little did she know how much i needed it too.

  6. Aw, my baby just turned 7 months on the 14th. She needs to stop growing. Also, I'm with you on the Target thing. And the scarf thing. And the fall thing. Really enjoying your blog since I found it a few weeks ago 🙂

  7. I love how you decorate…which has nothing to do with this post, but thought I would throw it out there. I inherited my childhood day bed from my parents which is a stark white. I might do some metal painting after seeing your bed frame… .

    Also, the thrift child comment made me laugh a lot.

  12. i'm a little jeal that you are having scarf wearing weather. it's still in the 90's in my town.
    and the america cutting board. yes ples. i'm trying to convince myself that i don't need it. i feel like the cutting board is going to win.

  14. i fell in love with your scarf on instagram so i just ordered myself one : ) yay! i never order myself anything so i am super excited to get it. and i agree, target is therapy…well, really any alone time is therapy for me.
