this weekend was all about love.
my loves.
my man has had some changes take place at work which mean that he is actually home with us a few saturdays a month. can i tell you how good that feels? can i tell you how blessed i feel? sundays are always full with church in the morning and family dinners at night. i wouldn’t change one thing about sunday. it is my favorite day of the week, after all. but, saturday… who knew you were so sweet? a day where we can bring the boys in to jump in our bed first thing. where we laugh at our morning breath and at the things brody comes up with. a day where we take pictures, take time, wrestle, make our own pizzas for dinner, and just love.
and maybe even pop into a museum.
one with a carousel, of course.
at the museum during story time, the “story teller” kept saying that mama seagulls throw up in their babies’ mouths. and asked do any of your moms throw up in your mouths? to the kids.
i almost wet myself.
i think caleb did wet himself.
i’m kidding.
but she wasn’t.
could you have used a different term for that, lady? brody already likes to play the i’ll bring a bucket over to you and you pretend to barf in it game with everyone. we don’t need to make it any worse.
a couple other random things happened as well.
my mom and i attempted to grocery shop with both boys on friday. i think it was friday at least. foster refused to eat all day so when we got the grocery store he downed a nutrigrain bar, cookie from the bakery, and a whole bag of veggie chips. while eating those same veggie chips, brody legit choked TWICE in the middle of the grocery store. like face-turning-red-stick-my-finger-down-his-throat choke. i love when things like that happen in public and people stare in shock, and maybe a little disgust, too? choking party at hannaford. all are invited.
three people referred to brody as she. but that’s nothing new.
and two people in jcpenney told me i should really get a cart to push my massive sixteen month old in. i know, people. did you think i was carrying him around for fun? he would be in cart if he would stop screaming at the top of his lungs and failing himself out of it every time i sat him down. but, thank you for your push your baby in a cart advice. don’t worry, i didn’t say that to them. the Holy Spirit worked in me, i smiled and said thank you.
one more thing.
guess who took their first steps this weekend?
PTL for camera phones.

Girl, I've still got to carry my 2 yr old around. Why do they hate the cart so freaking much?! I love all the drama that goes on with your two little boys and I like that you share it.
Ps: so glad you get to enjoy the beauty of a Saturday!!! Huge blessing for sure.
Cory

Sounds like a fun weekend, choking and all!!! 🙂 My nephew refuses his stroller or anything where he has to sit – he always has to be held!

My beautiful daughter was bald until she was 2! People always told me I had a cute son, even when she was wearing pink! I usually just smile and tell someone their baby or their child is really cute so I don't make a mistake!
Good for you for holding your tongue. I was in a craft store once with my very colicky screaming baby in a front carrier. I was in line trying to check out and get out of there when the woman in front of me turned around and sneered, "What's wrong with that baby?" I got tears in my eyes and told her I didn't know, that he cried and screamed all day and we had no clue why. It was awful. Now I am WAY more sensitive to parents with crying children, etc. Once you've been there, done that, you are more compassionate! Hope you have an awesome week.

me and scotty are both really sick and we just wanted to go for a drive yesterday to get out of the house. so we went to a starbucks drive thru and ordered salted hot chocolates. no salt. they said it was seasonal. we were devastated. so we went thru 2 other drive thrus. same thing. no salt. one guy said, "there's a wendy's across the street. they might have salt you can pour into it." really? anyway, my heart is deeply saddened by this news.
