it’s here. you’re one today! i can no longer say, a year ago today you were doing this or that, inside my belly. it’s bittersweet for me, really. i loved your pregnancy. i loved carrying you.
not as much as i love carrying you in my arms though.
i love your lamby laugh, i love your funny toes, i love how you bop to the music, i love when you burrow. i love your army crawl, i love when you get feisty and yell meet! meet! i love that you smell like maple syrup. this is due to the fact that you eat waffles on the weekends and i never bathe you, i still love it though. you love to watch your big brother run around like the crazy boy that he is. you miss him when he’s not around.
i love all the little things that make you you.
you are perfect the way the Lord has made you and i have been blessed beyond my wildest dreams to call you my child here on this earth. you are His. but He has trusted me to mother you and for that i am forever grateful. i pray many things for you, my sweet foster. but, my greatest prayer is that one day our connection would be deeper than our blood. that our connection would be by the blood that flowed down the cross.
