i just showered (the angels rejoiced) and i spoke aloud to myself the things i have been meaning to put into a blog post. so here they are, coming at you in list form:
- i don’t shower enough and when i do it’s crazy fast. i usually shower in the middle of the day because that’s when foster and story are napping and brody is having rest time. and don’t let him fool ya about rest time.
- i would be showering a whole lot more if i implemented the use of the monitor sometime BEFORE TODAY. seriously… what is wrong with me? my sister bought us a new monitor before story was born and i am just using it today. no more running inside every two minutes to see if she woke up. no more slipping and falling over myself straight out of the shower soaking wet to make sure she didn’t wake up yet.
- showering, yes i’m still talking about it, is even more necessary these days because i am on day 5 of jillian michael’s 30 day shred. i need someone to come massage my legs right this very second. every time i go to sit down i feel like they are going to fall off from the squats she forces me into. and, also, it is extremely awkward that the camera man zooms in on the women doing these pelvic swirls and brody is like “um. mom. what are they doing?”… i made up the term pelvic swirls, clearly. foster sits on me the entire time i do crunches and i still can’t do more than two push ups. help me. i’m meeeeelting. (said in the voice of the wicked witch of the west.)
- i may or may not have ordered myself a little birthday something something from my friend anna, at for the love of joy. just wait a couple months and you will see. can you handle the suspense?
- speaking of birthdays… i will be 26 on the 21st. say wha!? don’t worry you all still have time to get your gifts in the mail for me.
- brody will be FOUR on april 19th. hold me.
- the beauty book is still making it’s rounds and going strong. so if you are on the list it is still coming… it’s just taking a while to reach over 100 women all across the united states. it will reach you one day, i promise.
- caleb and i get the question, “are you still adopting?” a lot. yes, we are. we are just waiting to be matched… going into this adoption we knew this could take 2 weeks or 2 years. and that is okay with us. we will grow our family through adoption in the Lord’s perfect timing. is the waiting and unknown hard? of course, but we are mostly just excited and joyful for the plans He has in store for us.
- kicking up sponsorship on this here blog again in may. want in? i want you in! email me today for discounted rates mmkay?
- need your blog designed? email me!
- just email me anyway!
- i seriously love twitter. it’s where i tweet things that i would never write on facebook. cause there are only, like, two people i know in real life that i talk to on twitter (heather fischer, i’m looking at you). hopefully there aren’t random people i know in real life following me on twitter that i don’t know about…
- and also, sometimes i don’t link posts to facebook. i didn’t link my sex weeks old post. it’s my clever way of thinking that my church congregation didn’t read it. but i know you did, y’all.
th-th-th-th-that’s all folks. (said in the voice of porky pig.)
i like talking in character voices, what can i say?

oh man, you're my fav. did ripped in 30 tonight and thought of you. my body will be paying the price in the morning.

i am aching right now. but…ripped in thirty sounds even harder than the shred..

I sympathize with you with the 30 day shred. I did like 2 weeks…twice… still on level 2…. It is tough!! My summer goal is to finish it… (it will take the whole summer probs). But I am impressed that you are at it after just having a baby! (And you definitely need to shower after! Insane amounts of sweat!)
danielle @ take heart
yes! pouring sweat. i didn't reach level 2 yet, i'm scared.

i'm with you on the monitor. i haven't used one with my new baby girl and i do the same thing running inside to make sure she's okay, etc. i must get one!
also 26??? i mean you LOOK young. but i didn't realize it was 26 young? yous a baby girl:) happy early birthday!!
i get up at 5am to get my showers. tis the life:)
danielle @ take heart

I only have one child so this probably easier, but I bring her in the bathroom with me. I put her in her bouncy seat. She can just talk to her animal friends aka the toy bar, and I can get a much needed much enjoyed shower. 🙂 I'm sure with more kids it makes showering that much more difficult.
danielle @ take heart
yes! i used to do that with number one, but story sleeps so much better in her crib. she doesn't love the bouncy seat, unfortunately 🙁

That does make things harder.

LOVE IT ALL!

i knew you would 😉

eek…i'm almost through level 2 of the shred and it is brutal! i'm 7 weeks postpartum with #3, and it is kicking my booty. good luck! the moves are easier to perform in level 2, but you get more out of it (i think!).
danielle @ take heart
i hope the moves are easier! i am achiiing.

this made me laugh. just this morning i was laying in bed while my husband showered and i thought "who takes this long in the shower?!" someone who isn't rushed to get out to their screaming child. that's who. ha.
danielle @ take heart
hahha so true.
Danielle
I don't think I ever get past day 3 on the 30 Day Shred, but you are inspiring me!! I don't know how you do it all!! 🙂 Happy Friday!
danielle @ take heart
i just force myself. all this extra baby weight is my motivation 🙂 and i SO don't do it all – i ignore my kids while i "shred" ha!
Kristin
new follower here. love your blog. your sense of humor. your writing. my showers are a bit similar as they only occur either when daddy gets home to watch the kids or while baby is napping. either way- my very curious 3 year old winds up in the bathroom kindly throwing in bath toys so I, too, can play in the water. wouldn't have it any other way :).
danielle @ take heart
thank you so much!!
hahah i love it!

Im goimg to email you about the adoption process. some adults with my condition are having a hard time because stories out in the media about our illness have reporters quoting information that "most of us sucuuumb" to thedisease by the age of 40. It is heartbreaking and hurting a lot of people. Wondering if you know of anything to do to combat this or any advice. i think adoption is a beautiful thing.
danielle @ take heart
you can definitely email me 🙂

I think im going to email you about the adoption process. a few adults with my disease are having trouble because the stories in the media out there right now that are about our illness are all saying most of us sucuumb to the condition by the time we are 40 & that is not always true. it is really hurting people and it breaks my heart. adoption is such a beautiful thing!
Nicole
Happy early birthday! I hope your adoption goes as planned.

I am doing Jillian Michael's level one too, and My 19 month old son tries to sit on my stomach too while I am doing crunches, but I send him to my husband who is also working out Lol. Just read your post about going to the wedding with your baby daughter. I can totally relate! I had to go out of a graduation last year, right when a good friend was going to graduate, because my son was not happy, and I have totally had the experience with guys standing close to my vehicle when I need to nurse my son. It used to happen all the time at church, then I got my husband to park a different way.
