this weekend we headed down to new york city with friends. i can’t believe it’s been four years since i’ve been, and it’s only three hours away. it’s called h a v i n g k i d s. that’s what kept me away.
there isn’t anything quite like manhattan at christmas time. we started off our day with the christmas show, which made me sentimental for the times i saw it as a child. i can’t help but tear up when they sing glory to the newborn king!
i watched a behind the scenes peek on the rockettes before we went. their legs have to be a certain length and they have to charge their shoes like batteries. and when they wear those tall hats, they can’t see straight ahead, only peripheral vision. i know what you’re thinking, i missed my calling!
i went to anthropologie for the first time ever.
i know.
it actually was everything i’d hope it to be. i’m not so impressed with clothes, at any store, but the other stuff! the antlers! the plates! the aprons! the owl cookie jar! the blankets! all of it. i could definitely spend a lot of money there if i had it. this time i walked out empty handed but i will save my pennies for our next go around.
we window shopped and oohed and aahed over all the beautiful decorations.
the last time i went to the world trade center there was no new buildings yet . it was amazing to see the construction, the building progress, and the plans. we got to see the memorial and though i had such a heavy heart as i touched the names of those who lost their lives that day, i left with so much hope.
my beautiful girlfriends.
my honeylover.
times square at night will always be magical. and what’s even more magical is a falafel chicken gyro at 6pm. hands down most amazing food i’ve eaten in weeks. months? years? someone feed me.
nuts for nuts. seriously. couldn’t stop buying them. the cashews!
so thankful for great friends and this little escape.

Oh man. I'm trying so hard not to be jealous. I want to go to manhattan at Christmas time so bad. But, it's a little more than a three hour drive for me. Ha.
Looks like you had such a wonderful time. Yay!

NY has been on my bucket list for so long, but you know what has kept me? kids! haha. I think they are still too little for me to take a trip with them and have everyone enjoy NY like it should be. These are beautiful pictures of your trip!

ah!! i love NY! September was such a cool month for us, living there. We often said how cool it would be a Christmas time. Glad you got out there! I found it relatively fun with kids though they were a bit of a drawback at times. The metro? Not kid-friendly. The park and whole Upper West Side? Bomb. Perfect for kids!
also – totally hear you about Anthro. I was so excited to go and was disappointed by a good deal. It was so expensive and most of it was going for the look of "I just bought this at the thrift store" but was over $100!

I love New York. Love. took my hubbie there as a surprise trip for his 40th birthday and went once w/ eleven other women (that's right – ELEVEN). You could have a different trip every single time. I need to go at Christmas now that i've seen it on your blog. So pretty.

The bank at that point stores an electronic duplicate of the check, called a substitute check, in the database while the real check is stamped electronically, showing that it has been gotten the money for. Once the check is prepared and confirmed, its money esteem is then stored to your ledger.
