hello, friday morning. i am thankful for you.
it’s supposed to reach seventy degrees today. that is reason enough to throw a party in my book. i have big dreams of picnic lunches and scooping up my boys for early mornings at the park, and reading in the sunshine while they nap. oh wait, they don’t nap. like i said… big dreams. but i do think spring has tipped it’s little toes into our lives. i won’t say winter might not throw another storm our way but a girl can hope.
we have been walking every day. well, not foster. he can’t walk yet. pretty sure at his sixteen month appointment next week i will hear that he needs to be evaluated for PT. i heard it when brody wasn’t walking at sixteen months either. but, what can i say? my kids are lazay. i actually am praying foster walks reaaaaal soon. i think it will make the dino a little happier.
we have been soaking up the sunshine and afternoon breezes, lightweight jackets and early birds singing, longer daylight and the smell of spring.
my little sister is home from college on spring break this week. she took brody to park yesterday because it was so beautiful out, then they hopped over to mcdonalds for lunch. yes, my child eats french fries from time to time…especially when they are the only thing he will eat. french fries or starve? i choose french fries. she said every single child in the play area had green on for st patricks day except brody. she also said every single child had on matching socks except brody. you can award me mother of year award now, it’s fine.
although it looks a tad nauseating to me right now, i did infact eat that whole plate of cracker barrel breakfast goodness. and it was so worth it. every single bite. that omlet? stuffed with tomatoes, peppers, and onions. the hash browns are actually a hash brown caserole. HASH BROWN CASEROLE. did three words ever bring such delight to your life? don’t lie when you answer that question either.
on saturday we enjoyed breakfast together, just the four of us, for the first time in a long time. it was the sweetest thing. until foster started chucking pancakes, sugar packets and those little pegs through the lattice onto the little old ladies’ table on the other side. it’s okay though, we know when to call it quits at a restaurant, and we called it.
this is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it! psalm 118:24
you are hilarious!
people say boys and girls are so different.
pppfffft!!!
i can see my little baby girl (18 months) doing the exact same thing as foster!
the only thing added is that she'd probably be running to the other side of the lattice as well and screaming with uber delight and hucking things at those lovely old ladies!
ha ha ha!
i hope you get your glorious spring day.
we're still in blah winter mode here.
not diggin' it, i tell you.
i'll just enjoy seeing your brown grass… while i look outdoors to my white snow!
ugh!
the blog about the fam and all the photos! I went to the park today with my son and was admiring everyone's green clothes. Seriously just loving the color green. Then it dawned on me after a sweet grandmother told me her grandson didn't have a drop of Irish that it is St. Patrick's day. Do you think either of us was wearing green? Nope.
matching socks are overrated.
and that plate of food looks yummy #pleasedontjudgeme
we don't have cracker barrel around here – i dont know if i've even been to one. but i'm fairly certain i'd love it 🙂
Oh Spring sounds divine!!!!!!
Okay, we're not friends anymore. Cracker Barrel is my FAVORITE place ever and we do not have one, nor does the west coast.
my little one is on a french fry diet, too. and she calls ALL french fries "mcdonalds" and shouts/demands "mcdonalds" at random times and more often that i'd like to admit. you'll have to steal that MOTY award from me.
p.s. hash brown ANYTHING brings delight to my life. and i wonder where she gets it from… 😉
yes on wooden puzzles. yess on hashbrown casserole! and yessss on longer daylight hours!! isn't the warm sun a blessed thing? you have a great weekend too chica. big hug.
rejoice indeed.
I'm totally LOVING the weather here too! Love all those sweet pics of your fam. Happy weekend!
Glad you're getting a taste of spring and enjoying the time outside. Even here in GA I keep saying winter is not over – though it is supposed to be up to 80 today.
As for Cracker Barrel, that is an awesome choice when you're going to be "bad." I always get eggs in a basket and hash brown casserole with crispy bacon. mmmmmm mmmmm good!
Have an awesome weekend!
I have to agree with the above….matching socks are overrated 😉 Maddox didn't have an ounce of green on yesterday either! Oh well!
That breakfast looks DEEEELISH!!!
Oh, and could your boys BE any cuter!!!
mmm hashbrown casserole! Love the lattice story too! Too funny.
it's supposed to reach 85 here today. that's too warm. i can't even open my windows!
your wreath is on my blog today 🙂
judah currently has one sock on inside out and the other right side out. he's been that way since yesterday, after his bath. and he didn't wear green yesterday either. i hear that orange is permissible, too. if he happened to be wearing orange you could just consider it "making a statement"!
We ate french fries last night…shh don't tell. I love spring…and my son didn't walk until 14 months. He was in no hurry!
Those pictures are awesome…and could your boys be any cuter?!
enjoy every second of those temps friend!
miss you! 🙂
Ok seriously, that breakfast! Are you kidding! Yum! And have we discussed your hair yet, gorgeous. Yeah for good weather. Have a great weekend.
love all the cute pics of your family!
who matches socks anyway? i sure don't!
that breakfast looks so good. i want some. NOW!
🙂
hahaha…matching socks ~ that 's a good one! I hardly wear matching socks myself, as far as my kids go, it's a good day if both of them wear pants all day 🙂
I LOVE your pics and you make me want to bundle my kids up and venture out into the promise of Spring.
Happy thoughts for a Friday 🙂
Thanks.
Sweet. Just sweet. Gives me hope that someday spring will poke in its head around here. The restaurant fiasco had me giggling, because we actually got kicked out of an IHOP when my kid drew on the wall with crayons and ketchup.
Love Psalm 118:24 🙂
fridays are top notch! and yay for some nice sunshine–love letting the kiddos run wild:)
your fam is beyond cute, and i am now craving some bkfst food~
I love that you call Foster a dinosaur! We LOVE LOVE LOVE dinosaurs over here too– in fact, our little man's 1st birthday is dinosaur themed! :0) And at his birthday he will have waffle fries and chicken nuggets b/c it's going to be at Chick-Fil-A.
hi! sorry that this has nothing really to do with your post, but i saw you were following me on twitter and can i just tell you that it made my day?! i LOVE your blog 😉
have a happy weekend lady!
xo
oh my word, so many pics in this post. lucious.
i have missed your family. wierd? no…because i'm cool.
anyway, sweet lila didn't walk until 19 months. of course, she had something wrong with her ears. so make sure your Doc checks those out. but even so, she did get the hang of it!

Too fun! Glad you were able to enjoy the warmer weather and the restaurant – if only for a little while 🙂

your children are GUH-orgeous!
