date night was friday. it was so very needed. i wish we could make it happen every week… and we sort of do…sometimes. okay, maybe we need to be more intentional about it. even if it’s eating cereal, shutting off phones, tv and computer and playing scrabble. that actually sounds really, really fabulous to me. friday’s date was a little more fance-a-shamce though.
we had dinner out, i wore my red lip stick, we both were overly obsessed with our dinners and wished we hadn’t ordered that appetizer so we could squeeze more in. dessert to go is always the answer, by the way. always. you know you want it when you are there but you also know that you don’t want your button to burst off your black shorts. so you salivate over the menu, order two canolis and the three mousse trio to go and call it a night. i will say that caleb wished he ate his three mousse trio at the restaurant because it was more like a three pudding trio by the time we got home. but my canolis?
heavenly.
do i talk about canolis too much? could someone please send me a box of them?
my babes make my heart so full. these long, bright days let me see them explore this great big world in a whole new light. i am so thankful to witness the wonder in their little eyes. the excitement in their sweet faces, the joy bubbling over.
do you ever look at someone and feel like you are really and truly are going burst because of how much you love them?
i’m bursting today.
yes, it’s true.
the brothers burkleo may hit, kick and perhaps even throw in a bite or two from time to time. but at the end of the day? they just love each other a whole heck of a lot.
stop the sweetness.
hey foster, your chubby little toes and those thick little feet? they are some of things i never want to forget.
and this little look, too.
and my brody boy… don’t grow out of that baby face just yet. hold onto it just a little bit longer.
i hope your long weekend was filled with sunshine, loved ones, thankfulness, and bursting hearts, of course.
ps: on a completely different note….note the pedicure needed. immediately. i won’t be getting one because we are saving the dolla bills with a couple financial goals to met in these next fews months so i will paint those suckas myself while pretending my legs are being massaged and my torso is gyrating from that fabulous chair.

Mike's Pastry in the North End of Boston. The absolute most amazing, incredible, delicious, to-die-for cannolis you will EVER eat. Seriouly. Ohhhhh now I want one oh so badly! haha
And a tip, don't wait in the ridiculous long line of tourists. There are signs that tell you NOT to form a single-file line. DO NOT FORM A SINGLE FILE LINE. So, just jump in front of all the tourists and get your cannoli on, girl! 🙂
They may be huge, but I totally won't judge if you have more than one…
when my kids were littler (like yours) and i was hugging them, i would tell my husband i wished i could just squeeze them into myself. {i dont' think he really understood} it was like my heart would just ache with all that love. my youngest is 7 1/2 now, but he still loves to snuggle, and i do have that same feeling. MY BABY IS SO BIG NOW! ahh, i hate how it goes so fast!

I've had a pedicure once in my life, last summer. I'd love to go again, but it's not in the budget…the upside? I've gotten pretty good at doing my own nails. 😉

I'm all about the date night playin scrabble, or maybe sitting across from each other playing words with friend on our phones. Same thing right? The pictures of B&F laying together are beyond sweet. My favorite thing is when my kids beg me to have slumber parties.
PS,paint your nails and then have your hubby rub your legs. That's way better than a pedi 😉
