(jane-you won the take the cannoli giveaway! email me today)
i got a card in the mail the other day from my wonderful aunt.
this is what it said:
“someday she’ll be a strong, confident woman.. but you’ll always remember the first time you held her in your arms. someday she’ll have her own hopes and dreams, not knowing that once upon a quiet time, you closed your eyes and dreamed to have her in your life.”
why didn’t someone warn me about what happens when you have a daughter?
Kristin

Beautiful and so true! I really enjoy reading your blog – thanks for sharing your aunt's amazing wisdom…

she is beautiful and it's all so true. she will captivate every morsel you have in your body. every tiny little bit. so happy for you!

Exactly!! So different than after the boys. Somehow with them you love them as itty bitties but already have dreams if them being big and string and brave. Then a little girl…you want to protect her in s different way and realize for the first tune what pure and innocent really is- a daughter. Not to mention that feeling of you just bore your best friend. My Mary Mac even was all squishy in a different way. Boys and girls are different all around. God KNOWS how to create!!!!

Why didn't someone warn you? Well, there just aren't sufficient words for it, are there? 🙂 So special. Congratulations!

Why didn't someone warn you? Well, probably because there just aren't sufficient words for it, are there? 🙂 So special. Congratulations!

It's so hard to explain to people! boys and girls are both so special in different ways 🙂 i am so happy for you that you get to experince both!

both my children rip my heart out in so many ways, yet i too was astounded of the feeling of 'my girl'. God's mysteries are amazing!
Nick
well, i would have, but i didn't have a daughter! LOL! seriously though, i am pretty sure that i would have been even more emotional with a daughter than my sons…and that's pretty bad, because i was an emotional wreck when i had Nick! haha! enjoy that little sweetheart!

The dreams for my daughters are far more than the dreams I've ever held for myself.
You have just begun the most fulfilling and loving friendship you will ever hold here on
Earth.
Congratulations.

Do you think Hannah says that to all the new mamas of girls? 😉 I wonder a lot what it's going to be like to have a girl. 8 weeks and we'll find out! Hope you're hanging in there today.

so much love to you and yours.

I never wanted to be mother of girls. I always thought boys would be so much more fun. So of course I have two girls… And I'm so thankful.

I'm so behind on commenting but saw this post starred in my reader to remind me to say hello! I hope life is good with your little lady. Question, are boys and girls that different as babies?
