1) i was a second shooter at a wedding a couple weeks back. my beautiful and talented friend, nancy, asked me to accompany her and i about died. check out her work and you will see why. here are some of my pictures:
2) our house was sprayed by a skunk last week. i didn’t share it with you sooner because i was too busy gagging on the smell every hour. it went a little something like this: caleb set a “have a heart” trap to try to catch the crazy animal that was ripping the garbage bags out of the cans and dragging the entire bag through our back yard. hello, i was cleaning up poopy diapers and nasty food every morning when i took the boys outside. around 1am one morning last week caleb comes charging into our bedroom telling me there is a skunk in the trap and a raccoon on top of the skunk. uhhh what? am i dreaming? is this a nightmare? who are you anyway?
so, he’s trying to shoot the raccoon with a bb gun because it’s 1am and he doesn’t want to wake the neighbors, and the raccoon is clearly the one dragging our garbage all over the place. well, what do you know… the raccoon escapes, the skunk sprays…and then gets killed anyway.
and then a couple days later this happened:
yup.
3) i have something really exciting to share with you on monday.
…stay tuned.

your photos are beautiful!
Sorry about the skunk! yuck! why is it that boys always have the biggest smiles on their faces after killing something? thats what the hubby looks like after he kills a bobcat, turkey, deer…

so funny skunk story! my sister has a love for her cats like no other human being. when she realized we had skunks moving into the yard (we live on a farm, its not unexpected)she was bound determined to not let them give the cats rabies (bc apparently all skunks have it) she there she went with a butterfly net (mom thought she would never follow through) but three sprays later and a mom skunk and her babies in a cat kennel waiting for dad to get home to shoot em, the cats were safe. 🙂

Your photos are great!! We got a Nikon DSLR last year and I still take all of my photos on "auto"– I don't even really know how to use it! It's terrible…letting such a wonderful machine go to waste. That's one of my goals– learn how to work the camera!

Great shots!
(I meant the pics, not the varmints)
but great shots there too! 😉
I hate skunk sprays.
One time my brother shot a skunk by our barn and we had to take it a couple miles away from the house.
Even though it was in the bed of my truck in a bag, my truck smelled like it for weeks.
just a fun, pointless story for ya there 😉

and skunk. oh so gross. our dog got sprayed twice growing up. and we even had a nest of baby skunks living under our house. baby skunks dont know when to spray and when not to. it was NOT. FUN. feel your pain. more than you know.
